TASK 4 - Regulation

Regulation

Regulation is important because adverts are meant to be accurate and must not be misleading. If there was no regulation wasn't here, modern adverts would leave viewers could be left confused.

The role of OfCom is to show the intrests of the people and buyers. Also they protect them from harmful content. The role ASA is to make sure that all types of media are legal, truthful and honset. If a advert wasn't to follow this, it will have to be removed.

Some areas of advertising that ASA are concener with with is the radio and TV. They believe what ever is played should mislead viewers.

The frist question that ASA ask is, "Is the advert inccurate or misleading". This means that the advert is not speaking the truth. The second question is, "Might it cause offence to people seeing it". This suggest that is thia advert racist in any way or form and does it provoke a reaction.

The intervation has change tabocco adverts because in this day and age, adverts from the 1930s wouldn't be a-loud today. The reasons why is because the advert would be misleading and inaccurate, due to the fact fact we all know that smoking is really bad for our health.
